The Elevator Play
Written by Erin Moughon
The Elevator Play, A genre-bending new work by Erin Moughon, will premiere this July as part of the Chain Theatre’s One-Act Festival in New York City.
In The Elevator Play, Lara (Larissa Adamczyk) and Cameron (Jake Jervis) are rehearsing a classic rom-com meet-cute for a new play by director Ellis (Morgan Williams) - but something’s off. Strange sounds and stranger interruptions begin to upend the scene, and soon, aliens appear. A theatrical nesting doll unfolds, and nothing is quite as it seems in this surreal, self-aware spin on modern romance and performance.
It’s directed by Ria T. DiLullo, produced by Larissa Adamczyk/Alexander Rovang & Sponsored by Fenris&Fox Designs. Original poster artwork by Jaimee West.

Some of her other favorite roles include: Carrie, in the two-person play The Right Person (2022 Chain Theatre Festival). She has also had the honor to portray some fantastic women: Jane Wilde/Gwendolyn Fairfax/ Virginia Otis in an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's life and Bianca in a reading of Desdemona: A Play About A Handkerchief. Larissa can be seen on the internet, uncovering a mystery phenomenon In The Time Of... a story anthology on Instagram. She is in the short film Unvoiced, which received several nominations in NYC and International film festivals, and Over-Throne, which was Top 50 in AAFL 72hr Film Festival '20.

Alexander has been a musician in NYC for over 25yrs. Although his credits include Broadway shows & 50-piece orchestras, his favorite time has always been with the smallest, most intimate pieces. Susan Marshall’s Sawdust Palace, John Mercurio’s Academy, Julianne Wick-Davis’s The Pen. So, as excited as he is for his newest project (joining the faculty of the Berklee School of Music), he is unquestionably more delighted to be a small part of Erin Moughon’s The Elevator Play!
